The Empress Hotel is the icon of Victoria. For that extra special getaway I would recommend a night at this iconic property, a horse drawn carriage tour and afternoon tea. You can't get more Victorian than that! But seriously, this is a beautiful property (the rooms are a little small) but the history, design & atmosphere make up for the lack of size. We stayed in this hotel last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. We have booked another week this year as well. It is a little tired but beautiful . A real tropical feeling in the atrium rooms that overlook the pool. Restaurant food was just ok and very over priced. Snack machines were great for off hours. Pool deck could have been monitored for cleanliness nightly, and with just a quick pick up of wet towels, and garbage as well as a quick mop would have made it so much more inviting. when the Security and desk clerk are sitting with nothing to do. But overall we loved it and would recommend it for sure. Read more

The best aspect about this hotel is it's location. It's right in the heart of Vancouver making it easy to access the main neighborhoods and sites. The staff was extremely friendly in providing suggestions for activities and dinning. The rooms themselves have clean designs without being too "aseptic" in their design. The only downside was parking. It's limited and more expensive than other nearby options. Overall it's a great place to stay in Vancouver. Read more

This hotel has a wonderful location and due to the shape many of the rooms have commanding views of Coal Harbour, the North Shore Mountains and the Vancouver skyline along the water. The rooms are beautiful and well appointed and they are so quiet too. We have stayed here on more than one occasion even though we live in the city! The rates can be a little steep at times but keep your eyes peeled for specials on the Internet. Either way, you'll be glad you stayed at the Pan Pacific! Read more

I would recommend staying at the Sand Castle Inn to anyone who wants to experience the true Parksville. This place is close to the beach and is walking distance to the centre of town. The staff is very friendly and is willing to go the extra mile to make your stay a good one. I will definatly stay at the Sand Castle Inn again next summer. Read more
